ADVENTIST HEALTH GLENDALE’S CANCER CENTER is proud to be home to expert physicians, nurses and staff, who offer award-winning quality breast cancer care and outcomes. The center’s recent addition of new technology, paired with the leadership of three outstanding female medical directors, provides the best care for the breast cancer patient. This pairing helps give women peace of mind when they are faced with a cancer diagnosis or treatment. World-class cancer team Meet the cancer center masterminds The physicians at the cancer center are dedicated to providing comprehensive care in the diagnosis, treat- ment and prevention of cancer. It is the only cancer program in Glendale accredited by the American College of Surgeons’ Commission on Cancer as a Comprehensive Community Cancer Program. As part of these exceptional standards, the center maintains communication and collaboration among surgeons, breast reconstruction specialists, oncolo- gists, radiologists, pathologists and other cancer spe- cialists for quality patient outcomes. Meet our breast cancer physicians: Dr. Kim is medi- cal director of the radiation oncology department. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and her medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine. She completed her radiation oncology residency at Los Angeles County + USC Medical Center and is a board-certified radiation oncologist. Dr. Kim has been a member of the board of directors for the Southern California Radiation Oncology Society and of the Continuing Education Committee for Los Angeles Ra- diological Society since 2005. She is the first female president of the Korean American Society of Therapeutic Radiation Oncology. As medical director of the women’s imaging department, Dr. Chen has years of experience in mammography, breast and body ultrasound, and breast biopsies. As a Harvard University graduate, summa cum laude, in biochem- istry, Dr. Chen went on to earn her medical degree from Harvard Medical School. She completed her radiology residency and fel- lowships in mammography and ultrasound at the University of California, San Francisco Medical Center. Dr. Chen works with the most advanced technology available in imaging, and she is a local imaging expert in the detection and diagnosis of breast cancer. Dr. Cosgrove is medical director of the Adventist Health Glendale clinical laboratory, which is accredited by the College of American Pathologists. She is also senior medical director for the Adventist Health Southern Califor- nia Region consolidated laboratory. A graduate of the University of California San Diego School of Medicine, Dr. Cosgrove com- pleted residency and fellowship training at the University of South- ern California Keck School of Medicine, where she currently holds the appointment of associate clinical professor of pathology. She is certified by the American Board of Pathology in anatomic and clinical pathology, with subspecialty certification in cytopathology.
