New technology offers speed, safety and accuracy The new Varian TrueBeam ® linear ac- celerator is the latest advancement in radiation technology to treat many forms of cancer. The TrueBeam ® provides leading cancer care for our community with an image-guided radiation therapy system, offering speed and accuracy while minimizing radiation to healthy tis- sue and organs. The unique ability of the TrueBeam ® to rotate around a patient’s body allows for a faster treatment time. As the only cancer center in Glendale with the new technology, Adventist Health Glendale offers patients the most advanced medical care in Southern California, with short commute times. This gives friends and family an oppor- tunity to accompany loved ones during their treatments. Currently, our sister hospital Adventist Health White Memorial is replacing its linear accelerator with the same Varian TrueBeam ® . To keep coordi- nated patient care within a familiar health care system, Adventist Health Glendale is treating Adventist Health White Memorial’s patients in the interim. Every day, 25 to 30 patients travel to Glendale to get the same trusted care they would receive at Adventist Health White Memorial. In the coming months, the cancer center will start a renovation project to improve patient and visitor comfort. The new recep- tion area, spacious private dressing rooms, updated infusion areas and restrooms will create a welcoming environment for our patients during their visits.
